Real. Strong. Women.

Hello Sisters,

What a long strange year it has already been! We enjoyed a fun artful outing in February and then...the world just stopped. But AXO did not! There were countless adjustments to Halls of Commitments, moving collegians out of housing, and determining the best path forward for recruitment and retention for Fall 2020. While I was mostly a silent observer of the work and dedication to accomplish ever changing goals; I was, and continue to be, impressed with the Leadership of AXO at every level.

Real. Strong. Women. is much more than a tagline. I represented our chapter as a voting delegate for the Convention this year(virtually). And while casting my ballot electronically lacked a bit of flair, it felt good to be a small part of keeping AXO on track to meet whatever lies ahead. In July I participated in the online installation and celebration of a new National Board. I admit that I was missing the in-person ritual of the event, but it came together very impressively for a Board that was literally all over the country. All of our sisters who have taken on the mantle of National Leadership have done so with their whole heart. We should all be thankful and grateful for their willingness to serve the ideals and mission of our Sisterhood.

Several wording changes in our ritual were approved by the delegates to the annual meeting. If you want to see the text changes please let me know and I will send them to you.

Our member registration form is included with this newsletter. Please send in your dues as soon as you can to Annette so we can officially report our Chapter year is underway! If you are inclined to donate to the Foundation, the Chapter will forward all donations in a lump sum for the Burnette Grimes Jones Scholarship Fund.

As with almost everything else in 2020, our Founder’s Day event will be a bit different this year. Information on how to join our online event is in this newsletter. RSVP as soon as you can, because this will be an interactive event, and I will be counting on audience participation from everyone! PLEASE if you have any questions about attending online, contact your Board and we will get you set up! Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces!
