Every October, the Georgia Tech campus calls me back like an old friend, and this year—my 38th Homecoming—was a day that I enjoyed spending time with friends, some I have not seen in many years. As an Alpha Chi Omega alumna, I couldn’t wait to reconnect with my sisters, meet new faces, explore the AXO house that wasn’t there in my college days, and cheer our Yellow Jackets to a triumphant win. It was a day of laughter, hugs, and memories that I’ll carry with me until next year’s Homecoming.
A Sisterhood That Feels Like Family
Stepping into the Alpha Chi Omega house felt like entering a new chapter of an old story. Back when I was at Tech, we didn’t have this house—it was built around 1995, long after my college days. Walking through its doors for the first time in a while, I was struck by how it’s become such a vibrant home for sisterhood.
I reunited with long time friends and met other AXO alumnae at the house, some from the decade before me and others from years after. Hearing their stories felt like weaving together the threads of our chapter’s history. It’s amazing how Alpha Chi Omega connects us across time. I learned that our founder's had formed an organization called ZAP (Zeta Alpha Phi) on their own prior to learning that they couldn't just make up their own sorority! Thankfully they were guided toward Alpha Chi Omega and I am not a ZAP!
The current AXO sisters were a highlight of the day. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their love for the chapter shone through in every conversation. They welcomed us alumnae with open arms, eager to hear about our time at Tech.
The AXO house itself was a revelation. Since it was built in 1995, it’s a space I never lived in but have grown to love visiting. The first phase of renovations have made it even more incredible. Walking through the lower level, I imagined the memories these sisters are creating, from sharing meals together to late-night study sessions. The second phase of renovations will begin next year, creating a space that honors our legacy while giving today’s AXOs a place to make their own mark.
A Yellow Jacket Victory to Celebrate
Homecoming wouldn’t be complete without football, and the Georgia Tech vs. Syracuse game was one for the ages. Bobby Dodd Stadium pulsed with energy—gold and white everywhere, the band playing the fight songs, and the crowd roaring. I cheered until my voice gave out as the Yellow Jackets fought hard and won, pushing their record to an electrifying 8-0. Singing “I’m a Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech” was the perfect way to celebrate!

A Day That Warmed My Soul
This 38th Homecoming was a gift—a chance to hug Beth, reconnect with Laura, Lisa, Brittany, Gail, and Rita, and meet new sisters who carry the AXO spirit forward. The house, a dream realized after my time at Tech, stood as a testament to our chapter’s growth. And that football win? It was the icing on a day that felt like pure joy. As I left campus, I felt so grateful for Georgia Tech, for Alpha Chi Omega, and for the sisters who make every Homecoming feel like coming home. Here’s to the memories we’ve made and the many more to come. Go Jackets, and forever my AXO sisters!
